October and November have been a busy couple of months with the installation of a new Worshipful Master, a lodge social event, a cheque presentation and members of the lodge participating in Eastleigh’s Remembrance Day Parade.
Worshipful Brother Adrian was installed into the Chair of King Solomon on the 7th October with many of the lodge Brethren taking part in the ceremony, presenting and performing Freemason ritual parts. The new Worshipful Master invested his officers and a short lecture was presented by Brother Paul.

The November meeting saw the brethren meet and open the lodge, followed by a lecture by Worshipful Brother Barry and Worshipful Brother Keith on the Historical landmarks of Craft Freemasonry. The lodge members also pledged and approved donations to the Wessex Cancer trust and The Masonic Charitable Foundation’s Hampshire & IoW 2027 Festival fund. After the meeting Worshipful Brother Sean delivered an interesting lecture based on John Hamill’s Railways and Freemasonry: The connection explored which is particularly pertinent with the Vale of Itchen being founded for the benefit of railwaymen.
November also saw the lodge members visit a local pub for a social event with friends and partners invited. Worshipful Brother Sean presented cheques to a representative of the RNLI for £1500, and a further £100 in change was raised in a fundraising lifeboat.
Remembrance Sunday saw members of the lodge join the Scout and Guide Band, Royal British Legion, veterans of His Majesty’s Armed Forces, cadets, other Freemasons and other distinguished guests marching in Eastleigh’s Remembrance day Parade. Our lodge secretary Bro Ian lead the Band with Bro Bradley joining the Scouts. Worshipful Master Adrian laid a poppy wreath at the Rec Ground Cenotaph in honour of the fallen.
